City Men’s League – Welcome!
- How do I make tee times for men’s league?
- Tee times may be booked 1 week, 7 days in advance, for all league play—Wednesdays at Lincoln Park, Thursdays at Tiara Rado.
- ALL names, with contact information, are needed when booking tee times for league play.
- Why can’t I book tee times online?
- Tee times are reserved, or blocked from the public, for league play at both venues until 12 p.m. one day prior to league play day. Simply call the Golf Shop to reserve your time in advance.
- What time can I play?
- You may play anytime throughout the day of league play! Play in the Wednesday 9-Hole game at LP or the Thursday Front 9 or Back 9 games at TR, or both, as each game will have a separate pot for those participating.
- All singles must be paired with at least one other league player to account for scoring.
- What if I don’t have a group to play with?
- If you can’t find a group, please call the Golf Shop and our staff can add you to a group or make introductions!
- How do I know which game, or format, we’re playing for the day?
- Formats, with dates and venues, are published on the men’s league schedule.
- There is a Gross & Net component to all formats, except for Scrambles.
- Full Course Handicaps will be used for Net play during league play, unless otherwise specified during tournament play.
- Flights are determined by the number of players, or teams, in the field, based on handicap index.
- How do I know which tees to play from in league play?
- Tees are determined based on your handicap index.
- 0 – 4.9 Handicap Index: BLACK tees
- 5.0 – 13.9: BLUE tees
- 14.0 +: WHITE tees (TR), RED tees (LP)
- The teeing grounds above are the RECOMMENDED tees to play in league play. You are not bound to these tee placements, unless instructed under tournament play. Simply choose the tee you prefer, CLEARLY WRITE THE TEE PLAYED ON THE SCORECARD OF LEAGUE DAY, and your course handicap will be adjusted accordingly for scoring.
- Tees are determined based on your handicap index.
- How do I keep track of my score for men’s day? What do I do with the scorecard?
- ALL individuals are responsible for keeping their own score within in the group, according to the USGA Rules of Golf, regardless if all scores are kept by one person in the group.
- FIRST AND LAST NAMES are required on each card and hole-by-hole scores must be filled out LEGIBLY.
- Write the TEE played for each player on the scorecard.
- Write the GROSS score of each player on the scorecard.
- RETURN all scorecards to either the drop-box at LP or the mailbox at TR, located near the doors of the golf shop, after the round is finished.
- What does pace-of-play mean?
- Pace-of-play refers to the amount of time it takes for each group to complete a hole. For example, the pace-of-play for 9 holes is approximately 2 hours, and approximately 4 hours for 18 holes.
- A good pace-of-play is defined as keeping up with the group in front of you.
- Marshals will be on-course during league play to monitor pace of play—please be polite and follow their instructions.
- How do I find a partner for Two-Person games?
- It is your responsibility to find a partner for any team games.
- League rosters with contact emails or phone numbers can be found online.
- What Rules of Golf do I need to know before playing in league play?
- The USGA Rules of Golf will govern ALL men’s league play, except when modified by local rules.
- Tiara Rado local rules:
- The ‘Vicki Riley Rule’ is in effect for all balls that come to rest in flower beds or areas prepped for new flowers. Refer to Rule 16.
- Holes #5 and #6: The concrete wall along the right side of the hole are the boundaries for Out-of-Bounds.
- Hole #9: A drop zone near the fairway is designated for all balls that come to rest in the penalty area/lakes along the right side of the hole.
- Hole #10: White stakes mark in-course Out-of-Bounds for Hole #10 only.
- Hole #12: A drop zone across the pond to the left of the green is designated for any ball that comes to rest in the penalty area.
- Lincoln Park local rules:
- Holes #2 and #4: Relief may be taken for any interference with support netting. Refer to Rule 16.
- Hole #7: The chain link fence is the boundary for Out-of-Bounds.
- Hole #9: The white lines behind the green mark the boundary for Out-of-Bounds.
- Where can I go to find the results of the day’s league play?
- To see results, simply type the following into the URL of any internet browser: https://mengolfgrandjunction23.golfgenius.com
- You may create your own account for Golf Genius by creating a username (your email) and password, or simply enter the GGID: MNSGJT23
- When will results for the day’s league play be completed?
- Results, golf merchandise credit postings, and the posting of scores to GHIN will be completed no later than 1 week after the day’s play.
- What do I get with my winnings?
- All earnings are in the form of golf shop merchandise credit. As a City Men’s League member, you will receive 15% OFF all merchandise in the golf shop.
- Golf shop merchandise credit may be used for golf shop merchandise only.
- How long do I have to spend my golf shop merchandise credit?
- All golf shop merchandise credit must be redeemed by December 31 of each year.
- Don’t see anything in the golf shop you want to buy? Special orders may be placed through the Golf Shop with any vendor or manufacturer holding an account with Tiara Rado or Lincoln Park golf courses.
- All special orders using golf shop merchandise credit must be placed on or before November 1 of each year.
- How do I get into the Deuces game or the Hole-in-One pot?
- Simply write your name legibly on the cash envelope for Deuces or Hole-In-One Pot, fold your cash inside, and drop the envelope into the drop box.
- $5.00 cash for Deuces per 9 Holes. $10.00 for Hole-In-One pot at Lincoln Park. $20.00 for Hole-In-One pot at Tiara Rado.
- Please follow the proper etiquette when playing Men’s League.
- Leave the golf course in better shape than you found it.
- REPAIR ALL BALL MARKS.
- SAND ALL DIVOTS.
- RAKE YOUR BUNKERS.
- All alcoholic beverages must be purchased from the Clubhouse—please don’t jeopardize our liquor license by bringing your own alcohol to the course.
- NO fivesomes.
- 2 carts per group is the magic number.
- Treat others the way you’d like to be treated and remember to be kind to the Staff— as you have all heard the saying “Golf is a Gentleman’s Game.”
